The New Moon should be happy, joyous and every celebration full of giggles and laughter. Holiday shopping is done and your are gifts wrapped; cookie jar has been stripped of coins and is full of cookies.  Right?

The Sun will make a conjunction to Pluto December 24, 2009
This is an annual event, as the Sun conjuncts Pluto once every year; however you may notice it more because it is Christmas Eve. World wide the weather is usually difficult when the Sun conjuncts Pluto.

It promises to be a rough week around the world culminating in a Lunar Eclipse on New Years Eve.  Between the Sagittarius and Capricorn New Moon (which is a solar eclipse) there is a lot of planetary action.  Circle the dates below on your calendar.  Everyone of these dates are extremely important as market indicators.

December 15, 2009 Jupiter conjunct Chiron
Chiron in astrology is considered the Maverick and the Wounded Healer. In Financial Astrology, Chiron tends to indicate mergers, acquisitions and spin offs.  Corporations burdened by too many businesses under one umbrella will find it necessary to divest themselves of businesses not related to their core business. The newly departed companies could take on a new life and become very profitable, or without the support of their parent, they could wither.  It will be important to study each one's new balance sheet.

Jupiter indicates a plentiful supply. During the 1990's companies made acquisitions to increase shareholder value. After 2003 with the lowering of capital gains taxes, companies began to spin off acquisitions that no longer made sense to their business plan. Many of the Dow stocks are burdened with subsidiaries that just need to spin off. For example: GE's IPO has Jupiter at 26 Aquarius with transiting Chiron making a conjunction. GE has agreed to sell of NBCU to Comcast.

With this conjunction you will hear even more news about Spins. Some could be very profitable to share holders.

Incorporation charts for a large number of corporations on the New York Exchanges have Jupiter conjunct another planet.  Now could be an excellent time to start up your company.  The Textbook for Financial Astrology Book One explains how to time the event that signifies your first day of business.

December 20, 2009 Mars Retrograde
Starting December 20, you will have 80 days of Mars retrograde to polish the details.  Major lows usually occur just after Mars retrogrades, so keep some cash on hand to invest. Mars will remain in Leo until June. Leo rules gold therefore it is important to keep you stops firmly in place; and if you are cashed out wait for the Capricorn New Moon.

Mars retrograde favors industries where neither high energy or enthusiasm is required. Upon examination of the The Dow Jones Industrials Company Data only Proctor and Gamble has Mars retrograde in its incorporation chart. Five Dow companies have Mars retrograde in their IPO.

Mars retrograde means whoever starts a legal action, an argument, or even a war, will lose. This does not seem to apply to sports. This is not a good time for elective surgery for humans or animals. It is an excellent time for a high nutrition low calorie diet.

December 21, 2009 Jupiter will be conjunct Neptune
This aspect has been applying all of December and accounts for a rather euphoric attitude among the public. Folks will be in a great holiday spirit. People are feeling that they can overcome every dire economic circumstance. They are ready to use every bit of creative spirit they can muster to become involved in the new economic paradigm.

This is especially true with entrepreneurs and those who depend on their creativity to earn a living. From the beginning of December it is important to take notes on your ideas and start working on your business plans.

The downside of the conjunction is massive public deception. Expect scandals to surface from every corner of the economic market place.

During 2010 Jupiter will also make three conjunctions to Uranus which will give entrepreneurs another window of opportunity to invent or reinvent a business.

December 21, 2009 - The Winter Solstice
Astronomy experiment: Get up a dawn and photograph the rising Sun. Then later that day take a picture of the Sunset. Save it until Winter Solstice 2010. Keep this up for a few years and you can build your own New Grange or Stonehenge.

December 26, 2009 Mercury Retrograde
You all know that I'm going to explain very carefully that if it costs more than $15 then you don't need to buy it. Try to anticipate any needs you will have during these three weeks and make sure your purchases have their receipts neatly filed. Take all of your gift cards and put them in a vault. February sales will reward your patience. Take this quiet time to read for pleasure, repair all of the broken things in your house or place of business. This is a good time to repair your vehicle, brainstorm and write all of your ideas into a notebook. There could be one excellent idea, but you can put it off until Mercury turns direct.

December 31, Super Full Moon is also a Partial Lunar Eclipse A Super Moon occurs when the Moon is in perigee, or closest to the earth. In the sign of Cancer, this Lunar eclipse is visible in Europe and Asia and suggests an excellent time to stay close to home.  With the Moon in Cancer it is wise to secure your valued possessions and to protect everyone in your environment. It will bring interesting weather. Folks living in areas prone to Blizzards, Volcanic activity, Earthquakes and Tsunamis should be on the alert. Usually these events occur several days before or after the exact Full Moon Eclipse.

January 13, 2009 Saturn Retrograde
Watch the market trends for the next week and then go the opposite direction.  Since Mercury will turn direct in two days, the trends are unlikely to be clear. This is the time to follow a few stocks and understand that if it is going down quickly it is time to toss that one and find another.  Jupiter will change signs and move into Pisces on January 18, 2010.  This is sector switch time and the market rarely moves up.  Investors tend to go to cash and start looking around for new sectors where they anticipate earnings improvement.

January 15, 2009 Mercury Direct - YEAH!
Go shopping, but first go through your shopping list and recheck all of your “I wants”.  It is a good idea to clean out your notebook of great ideas and save the ones that just might work.  Put your online research to work, and try to avoid buying machines since Mars is still retrograde.

Now is the time to start thinking about the sectors of businesses ruled by Pisces. There will be one or two leaders in each sector. Start by looking through the charts in your Financial Astrology Textbooks for companies with a Pisces Sun.  Example: Ford, Microsoft. Follow their technical charts.

The New Moon appears in the First House (Non USA members please set the New Moon chart for the capital of your country and note the house position of the New Moon - Textbook 4,  page 30 will help you interpret the new moon for your own country) 

It is hard to imagine, but generally speaking, the USA feels self confident and happy, healthy and wise. Negative folks will be told to get an attitude adjustment. Folks are euphoric. They feel like they have come through a troubled 2009 and are looking forward with optimism to 2010. They plan to enjoy the holidays and the time off with family and friends and everyone has a few extra gifts neatly wrapped for an unexpected guest.

Folks are happy and very appreciative of nature's bounty. They are full of energy and ready to enjoy their favorite winter games. Wherever they go, there seems to be a party.  Energy levels are high with good songs, good stories and plenty of jokes. Take lots of pictures.

Pluto in the First House
The best time to announce difficult economic news is during a holiday season. The public has been hoodwinked and is very suspicious of authoritarian type proclamations. Therefore, even fully documented announcements are seen as fear mongering.

Mercury in the First House
Quite a few folks have invented themselves out of economic problems by striking out on their own. Some of these activities are promising. The Initial Public Offerings market is a busy place as successful companies see the week before the holidays as an excellent opportunity to sell a portion of their enterprise.

Jupiter in the Second House
Financial institutions are quietly returning profits to their shareholders and employees. They are able to make secure loans as the nation finally understands that adding taxes does not increase revenues. The electronics industry has been able to export their wares with increased success allowing profits to return to the parent companies.

Neptune in the Second House
Fraud and dishonesty are lurking behind the scenes. The trend of paying cash for purchases will continue as people avoid adding new debt. Theft of secret formulas and patents becomes a problem. Hackers are found stealing trade secrets just for the glory of being caught.  Loan-sharks will make headlines.

Uranus in the Third House
Wet weather, especially west of the Mississippi, is a problem.  Communications will tend to snarl and delays will be felt everywhere.  Vehicles of every sort will find unusual ways to break down adding to the general cost of personal transportation. Parts supply shops will be busy as a result.

Mars in the Eighth House
Here Mars is all about using energy to deal with death, taxes, accounting, and insurance; in other words, paper work.  Every category is asking people for more energy than they believe should be required. Sitting down, filling out forms, and writing the same information over and over is a royal pain. Mercury is retrograde until the next New Moon so this is as good an excuse as any to file away all of the paper work that is driving you crazy.

Saturn in the Ninth House
International shipping will find pirates require some drastic new defense weaponry.  International courts of justice are under attack. Treaties and agreements between foreign countries will blatantly treat each party unfairly. There is a point where fairness is required when currency is exchanged. These exchange rates will be a major topic of discussion.

Folks will find it hard to believe that we are supposed to be celebrating religious holidays that proclaim peace and freedom.

Venus in the Twelfth house
Charity that is tax deductible will flow, increasing the treasuries of institutions with a good reputation for distributing their donations.  Institution's financial position will improve as a result. All have had a great deal of problems balancing their budgets, and donations are coming from some unexpected sources.

GOLDILOCKS

“Hey Baby Bear loved your picture with Mickey Mouse. You must be having a great time in Disneyworld!”

“Goldilocks, do you think Santa will come to our cottage for Christmas?”

“Baby Bear, I spoke to him yesterday and he said he would stop by as soon as he finished delivering all of his Christmas gifts. He said he could pick up Ferdinand and take him home to Spain.”

“OK, thanks Goldilocks, cause I don't want to miss him! ...here’s Mama Bear.”

“Goldilocks, Baby Bear is down to his last honey pot full of tips and ready to go home. Papa has been ready for a month and filled the RV with diesel yesterday. I really miss my kitchen. Loved your dress, now when is the wedding? Are you going back to Spain with Ferdinand?”

“Ferdinand and I decorated the cottage and set up the tree. I bought a festive table cloth for the kitchen table. The wedding will be in March, so I think I will stay here until we set up your porridge kiosks.

“Papa Bear says we will be there December 23.”

“Great, tell him we said to drive carefully. Oh, Santa said he would leave a gift at the cottage for Artful Dodger! How very strange.  I don't ever want to see Artful Dodger again after what he has done! ... But I couldn't say "No" to Santa, and Santa seemed to be certain he wanted to have him pick up his present at the cottage.  So, is it OK if Artful Dodger drops by your cottage on Boxing Day?

“Well, I guess I can’t say no to Santa either, but Papa Bear will be there to make sure The Artful Dodger does nothing untoward.”
